Which charmed season is the best

Because of her connection with Patty, Prue has never truly been able to accept it. As a crowd gathers around their house, both the supportive and the antagonistic show up to rally. After the death of Prue, Piper and Phoebe are left to grieve for their older sister, struggling to accept their new reality.

But, upon learning of their long-lost sister, Paige makes her way into their lives and becomes someone they need to save, multiple times. Not many shows can pull off the long-lost sibling trope, but Charmed planted the perfect seeds along the way like Patty having an affair with her whitelighter, Sam to pull this off after the unexpected exit of Doherty.

And, unlike most shows, this is just the beginning of Piper and Phoebe slowly letting Prue go and letting Paige in. As the girls scramble to prepare themselves and find a way to stop the foe that was able to orchestrate the death of their sister, Paige must help a woman from her job as a social worker that is a victim of domestic violence. Given that her journey has only just begun, Paige is immediately reluctant.

There are many opportunities to see why these women love being witches, despite the trauma of it all, but this episode does a particularly great job at exploring that. After the birth, and learning that she is the mother of a very important and powerful child, Piper must then face various demonic forces who intend to either kill or capture her son.

The sisters question themselves after Gideon's betrayal. Phoebe is such an emotional wreck that her boss lets her take a break and hires a ghost writer -- a man with whom she takes awhile to warm up to but eventually develops feelings for.

Finally, darkness surrounds the sisters in the form Zankou, a demon who had been locked away by The Source. The sisters have to live under false identities to be free of demons. Each sister remains unhappy and eventually decides to return to their Charmed lives.

Paige, however, begins helping a young witch named Billie, who eventually discovers the sisters' magical secrets but agrees to keep them under wraps in exchange for witchcraft training.

Her individual relationships with the sisters quickly became highlights of the season. Phoebe and Billie had a very nurturing, honest relationship, and it was fantastic to see such beautiful chemistry from Milano and Cuoco in the portrayal of this relationship. It felt like Phoebe had another sister, and likewise for Billie who desperately needed one… a good one.

Even with Billie and Piper, the fact they never became close was quite entertaining and a necessity in the final episodes of the show. Piper was the one willing to do whatever it took to stop Billie, not held back by any feelings like her sisters were.

Their banter was fun, it showed exactly who Piper was as a witch and a woman, and their dynamic was familiar to that of Prue and Phoebe when the series began or Piper and Paige upon her introduction to the family.

Another wonderful callback, of sorts. One of the best aspects of the early seasons was seeing the girls use their magic, make mistakes, and learn how to clean up those messes. Phoebe and Paige didn't see the seriousness of witchcraft that Piper and Prue immediately recognized and took to heart, and neither did Billie.

It was nice, after so many years, to see another set of sisters and their deep relationship, and just how much magic can interfere with something so special.
