How can i remove bedrock

This guide will go over the process of breaking bedrock blocks in both editions of Minecraft. In order to break the bedrock blocks, Bedrock edition players will need to have the following items:. Step 2: Right-click on the cauldron while holding the powder snow bucket. Players need to do this twice. After clicking once, the cauldron will be filled with snow. When the player clicks the second time, snow will form above the cauldron, and it will replace the bedrock block.

When the snow is broken, there will be a hole in the layer of bedrock. Breaking bedrock blocks in the Java edition of Minecraft is more complex than the Bedrock Edition. Players will require the following items:.

Step 2: Close the trapdoor and then right click on it while standing close to it. To open the chat, press T on PC or Mac. Tap the icon that resembles a chat bubble at the top of the screen on mobile. This switches your game from Survival to Creative mode. In creative mode, you have unlimited resources and can break any block easily including bedrock. Click or press the left trigger on the block you want to break. In creative mode, you should be able to easily destroy bedrock.

Method 2. Place a block on top of the piece of bedrock you want to break. It can be any block. This serves as a marker to mark the block you want to break.

This method only works in Minecraft Java Edition 1. Place a piston on one side of the marker block. Place the piston on its side so that the head of the piston is against the marker block. Place a sticky piston perpendicular to the other piston. Again make sure the head of the piston is facing the marker block. Remove the marker block. Now that the pistons are set, go ahead and break the marker block. You should have two pistons with the heads perpendicular over the block you want to break.

Add 5 obsidian blocks to the left of the piston. Obsidian is found where lava meets water in caves. You need a diamond pickaxe to mine obsidian. Place 5 more obsidian blocks perpendicular at the end of the last obsidian block.

You should have a total of 10 obsidian blocks forming an L-shape. The heads of the pistons should be facing the large edge of the inside of the L. Place a lever outside the last obsidian block. The lever should go outside the L on the last obsidian block at the end. Place an activator rail on the other end of the block with the lever. The activator rails are the minecart tracks that are powered with redstone. Place 10 redstone repeaters along the outside of the obsidian blocks.

The redstone repeaters should be placed on the outside of the obsidian blocks shaped like an L, starting with the obsidian block next to the lever and continuing all the way to the obsidian block next to the piston. Set the redstone repeaters to their max setting. To set each redstone repeater to their maximum setting, right-click each redstone repeater 3 times.

Connect the two sets of redstone repeaters with redstone. Place redstone in the corner area in between the two sets of redstone repeaters outside the obsidian blocks to connect the two sets of redstone repeaters.

Place a minecart with TNT on the activator rail. Use a crafting table to craft a minecart and TNT. Then use the crafting table to craft a minecart with TNT and place it on the activator rail. Place a stone block behind the piston next to the obsidian blocks. This will ensure that the piston extends.

Activate the lever and get to safety. This will activate the TNT in the minecart giving you a short time to get to safety before it explodes. The obsidian blocks will shield the redstone repeaters from the blast. The redstone repeaters will delay the time until the piston extends. It should extend as the minecart explodes. This should destroy the head of the piston leaving you with a headless piston. Do not turn the lever after the explosion. If you do, it will reset the piston and you will have to repeat the detonation once again.

On occasion the blast may destroy the entire piston. If this happens, you will need to set a new piston and try again. Place a redstone block on top of the headless piston and turn the lever off.

The redstone block will keep the piston extended when you turn the lever off. After placing the block, turn the lever off. On the 5th layer of the tree, they can generate in a radius of 3 blocks. On the 6thth layers, branches will generate in a radius of 4 blocks. On the 29th layer maximum tree height the branches grow in the same area as the previous layer, but can only form on the circumference, in a ring. Bedrock can only be broken in the south and east directions using this method, and requires at least a 5x5 column of air next to it.

This means it can only be used for the nether roof if you already have a 5x5 hole in it. It can also be used to break specific blocks, while keeping others safe, meaning it can be used to help build wither cages.

If you only wish to break a layer of bedrock, while keeping lower layers, you can utilise the lowest branches, which grow on the 5th layer.

Make sure there are only 4 blocks of air between your dirt and the bedrock you want to break. Then place a block 13 blocks above the dirt. This will force the tree to grow as low as possible, meaning the branches are more likely to grow on the lowest layer. In order to break lower layers of bedrock while keeping higher layers safe, simply place the dirt 5 blocks below the lowest bedrock you want to break, and then place a block 5 blocks above the highest bedrock you want to break, in order to restrict the tree height.

Starting in 1. Due to a bug in the dragon egg code, dragon eggs in lazy chunks would delete any block they fell on. This could be used to delete bedrock.

In order to break the bedrock, the player would just need to set up a machine that dropped the dragon egg s in lazy chunks. This could be accomplished by using a piston combined with a long redstone wire or lazy chunk detector, or by using a flying machine. The glitch was discovered in by RedstoneSpire, however he has since deleted his channel, along with the original showcase video. This method only worked in The End, because end crystals only generate fire there. The fire was placed every tick, and due to a glitch , could replace any block, including bedrock The bug was introduced much earlier, when end crystals were first added, however before placeable crystals in 1.

This method was patched in 1. To pull off the glitch, the crystal must be placed adjacent to the bedrock, so that its hitbox is already partially inside it. This way, it can be pushed further inside the bedrock, so that the fire can replace it. If the crystal is pushed while its hitbox is intersecting with fire, then it will explode.

To combat this, the block below the crystal must be broken to prevent the fire from spawning. The base of the bed would replace the plant, and the head of the bed would replace any block next to it. It would only work if there were blocks beneath the bed for it to be placed on.

This broke the bedrock from the side, and required very little free space. It couldn't break through the roof of the nether, but could be used if there was already a hole.

It could not be used for y-0 bedrock. From the introduction of large oak trees in Alpha until 1. Upon the introduction of dark oak trees in 1. This was one of the most widely used methods for breaking bedrock ever. By planting dark oak saplings under some logs of any type and orientation causes some variants of the dark oak trees to grow with the top of the tree at the level of the saplings. This caused the branches to replace blocks below the level of the saplings.

The logs could replace blocks in a 4x4x4 area, starting from the level of the dirt the saplings were placed on. Find the highest gap in the bedrock and rapid-fire your ender pearls straight up at it until you are through.

After that you should be on top. Cool view huh? Place your dirt in a square above where you ender-pearled. Place down your dark oak saplings on top just like normal. Since dark oak trees don't grow by themselves, grab some bonemeal and make them grow. Once you have your first dark oak tree, knock out the bottom four blocks and place down four more saplings. Bonemeal the saplings and a tree will spawn lower than the other one.

Just dig around for branches that go through. If you don't find any, try again, its kinda random.
